Mixing Zones

The Murkowski Administration has proposed new rules to allow mixing zones in salmon streams. Simply put, this new rule will increase pollution in Alaska's salmon streams. Although mixing zones are prevalent throughout the state, they are rightly prohibited in salmon streams under current law. At the behest of mining, timber and oil and gas interests, however, the Murkowski Administration has put the issue on the table.
